By Elizabeth Thenia Moody
It is a very difficult task to talk about Elizabeth Moody´s paintings, each of them speak for themselves and draw us into an intriguing world that is hard to let go of. Getting lost in each world makes it a complex task to get back out again and look. A painter, a storyteller, each of these paintings impress us with the fantasy world that can be created with each brush stroke different from the other orchestrating a story. Color dictates the mood of these stories and each brush stroke tells us with a little more detail what has happened. Some paintings are led by commanding figures, none the less these characters are less intriguing than are each mark that composes them and surrounds them, each color that accompanies them, screaming or creating a rhythm. Silence, noise or an enchanting hypnotic song. We are pushed to inhale unexpected color strikes put together to continue to unveil a world. Humor and despair. Fantasy, secret plots, mystery but most of all a complex of magnificent composition created with the power and absolute domination of color. Therefore Elizabeth presents us with paintings that overwhelm us with such rarely seen levels of freedom in composition and strokes. -Ananu Gonzales-Posada
