Why Critique; To critique or not to critique that is the question. Whether it is nobler to try to write for a living or increase your income some or to suffer, with the outrageous misfortune, that is the slings and arrows of poverty that is the question. Whether to write just because you must to claim fame for your name or as a hobby in your lobby or to make your living more giving that is the question for inspection. Why is the critique such a magnifique word to speak to a writer even though they take & make your literary works trash as they speak they slash an dissect them from every direction with perfection. Why oh why must writers go through the pain an agony of being slowed down n overworked by: the bleak changes of critique no its not freak. Friend lend me your ear let me try to explain it is plain, they insist they must do this to get you on a publishers list, so why resist without it many books would not exist. Perhaps it is to help you take and make your literary work correct and resurrect it remarkably completely marketable. Ah yes that, that may add rhyme to their reason not to commit treason but to season it that, that is the reason. For you see not to suffer with rejected, ejected literary works from promoters, publishers and writing contest it must be perfectly spelled, punctually correct and there are rules, the tools for those who are not fools. For every type, way and style of writing and any little defect can cause rejection and they may not divulge their reason for the ejection. Without any word to be shown or known to the writer who is left to scratch their head and wonder under stress and brain pain why? What and how now could they, should they do to make this literary work more sellable, respectable and acceptable. Ah yes poor Yorick his fate is historic alas he did not know there is much more to this critiquing sigh than meets the eye. My oh my the writer dose not know why, when or what goes on under the feeding table at the publishers zoo too, tis true they dare to care but they are not allowed to be there to advise n stare. Yes a person who is a writer needs all the help they can get these days in many ways because things are not as easy as they look even books, dictionaries and computers are inadequate and critiques do not agree you see. Remember too it is true you can say, write n critique what you want to. There is freedom of speech and the Press, but it could n should always be tactful, truthful, kind, cautious n courteous. History shows what you write might get you hurt, thrilled, killed or sued by the: shrewd, greedy, wild n crazy, lazy, rude n crude, dude, prude, Madame, Hex; for sex or no sex I know or someone else for any reason in any season, so oh no Im not responsible for that its just factually, actually true. My name is Nicole Jean-Louis. My maiden name is Nicole Faublas. I was born in Port-au Prince, Haiti. When I was nine years old, my grandfather, Luc Beauboeuf, inspired me to discover my artistic talent. Every sketch Ive made was greeted with abundant praises by my grandfather. Draw me some more, he would say to me. Every day after school, I would rush to draw more and more for him. Then, he would help me with my math problems. In my early schooling at Sacred Heart, my favorite subjects were Math and Drawing. As an artist, I love to incorporate Geometry and Physics in my drawings as much as I can. For example, when I paint my landscape, I want to align the horizon with the sea level as straight as possible. In Haiti, we were five siblings growing up: Gladys, Nicole (myself), Micheline, Edith, and Serge Faublas, our only brother. One day, my father, Jean Faublas, gathered us all to go hiking in a mountain surrounding Port-au-Prince. The mountains name is Morne de lHopital. My father told us that we would go to the top where there is a hotel at Boutilier. This was a memorable experience. We met farmers working on the fields. Some farmers build terraces. We met women descending the mountain with baskets on their heads, loaded of farm products. The women wore blue denim dresses, with a colorful piece of cloth wrapped around their waist. There were naked children playing by their thatch houses. At the age of ten, it was fascinating for me to see the childrens skin and hair of similar color, red-brown like the soil. The air smelled like Haitian soda. In the late 1955s era, the mountain sides located near Port-au-Prince were not constructed. They were invaded by outsiders as in this modern day era. In 1964, my whole family migrated to Zaire, Africa, to flee from the Duvalier Regime. I spent a year in Zaire, completing my terminal secondary class. Then, my father sent me to Hampton, Virginia. I attended Hampton Institute; presently known as Hampton University, majoring in Biochemistry. I spoke little English. The following year, I stayed in New York with my older sister, Gladys. I did not pursue Art in college. Instead, I choose Science. After many intermissions, (e.g.)( wedding, travel, birth), I finally received a Bachelors in Science degree at Hunter College in 1978. From 1978 to 2007, I worked in Chemistry at different hospitals in the Bronx: North Central Bronx Hospital, Einstein, Jacobi, and Montefiore Hospital. I painted occasionally for dear friends, my sisters and brother, my granddaughter, Guenett (Three 2 Generations) painting. I also painted for my nieces and nephews wedding presents, and for decors in my new house. When I retired in 2007, my husband and I went to live in Jacmel, Haiti, his hometown. Jacmel is a picturesque town by the beaches. Its environment inspired me to take my brushes again. Painting became my favorite past time. From 2007 to 2010, I painted over thirty paintings. I embrace all styles: landscape, personalized portrait, every day occurrence, folkloric dance, history. Haiti that I know before the earthquake of January 2010 will be beautiful again. I have to display Haitis panoramic scenery, everyday life, and its historic events such as: Ceremony of Bois Caiman, 1791, Mad Dogs chasing fugitive slaves. I have to exhibit some of Haitis heroic figures; for example, Toussaint Louverture and Jean Jacques Dessalines. My book is mostly about visual art. Visual art depicts everything that the eyes can see without embellishment. Reality is represented faithfully, truthfully, and accurately. Visual art is objectively real. My book illustrates Haitis history and culture through visual art. Haiti has a unique and glorious history. History is powerful and should be protected. Haiti is a country full of resilience. Documenting Haitian history and culture through art is my passion. It is important to instruct the young so they can make educated judgment by learning from the past. I also produce cultural and traditional scenes, idyllic seascapes, and landscapes; hoping to make one a lover of nature. I also want to deliver warm feeling, by introducing some sentimental scenes. I create portraits, illustrations, documentary, and tribute paintings. As a teenage girl, I travelled to Africa, in the countries of Congo, Kinshasa with my parents, which allowed me to pay tribute to the Congolese Woman. Africa is the Carrefour of all cultures. I am proud to mention Africa in my work. The bulk of my work focuses on rural and urban scenes. Informative essays accompany each artwork. I hope to attract a wide audience. I also include comments from other artists at Fine Art America which I think will be very interesting to read. All my paintings are registered copyright with all rights reserved. By Judith Evan Goldstein
Our deepest emotions bend the expressive capacities of the human language to the breaking point. In this book, child survivor of the Shoah, artist/composer Judith Evan Goldstein transforms tragedies and horrors, into multi-colored, richly textured images on wood and canvas. Her paintings palpably indict the perpetrators of the crimes against the Jewish people, providing a voice for the victims. Goldstein balances painful memories with testimony to the cherished new lives built by survivors. Joy, not evil, has the last word. Dr. Elena Procario-Foley, Ph.D., Driscoll Professor of Jewish-Catholic Studies, Iona College Chair of the Council of Centers on Jewish-Christian Relations New Rochelle, New York Judiths art is a reflection of her painful journey and personal experiences during the Holocaust, daring and colorful as if done through the eyes of a child. She and her metaphorical art appear in the film, As Seen Through These Eyes of which the title comes directly from Judiths profound assertion, What Ive seen through these eyes, I made a promise to tell the world so that it will never happen again. In this book, Judith unlocks the collective unconscious and reconstructs the unthinkable horrors of her past as a memorial. As a composer/lyricist and artist, Judith says, I paint the images of my childhood and play the images I see. Hilary Helstein, Director/Producer of As Seen Through These Eyes Judith Evan Goldstein's art and music have made a significant contribution on the pantheon of Holocaust art at the Florida Holocaust Museum and in the world. Her art, using bright colors, wonderful imagery and the underlying sadness of a childhood interrupted brings us closer to understanding the human condition. Her music, haunting or lively, rooted in traditions yet ever new, expresses the very heart of memory. Judith's work, most of all, makes the incomprehensible, accessible. The visual, the auditory, the non-verbal expression of this fine and talented artist being understanding of the Holocaust to audiences regardless of language, disability or experience. In her work is truth. Museum Director and Curator Stephen M. Goldman Florida Holocaust Museum St. Petersburg, Florida Judith uses her painting and music as a way to communicate her childhood memories of the past in the Vilna Ghetto and concentration camps. Her technique, collage/mixed media and painting, invites the viewer into her tormented past, while her more symbolic work speaks to the spirit of the Jews under the most adverse condition. Judith also raises the question of whether art about the Shoah can be colorful, even beautiful. Dr. Stephen Feinstein, Director Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies University of Minnesota Judith Evan Goldstein is one of the most multi-talented people that I know. She is an accomplished artist, composer, musician, singer, writer, poet and lecturer. Besides her creative abilities, Judith has overcome her trials and tribulations by turning them into triumphs. She is someone I truly admire. Chana Benjamin President and Director of New Century Artists, Inc., Chelsea, New York

The author has spent his life in an obsessive quest to understand the nature of reality and the purpose of existence. Many would say this is a symptom of Aspergers syndrome, a high functioning form of autism. While I certainly fit this profile I believe there is a different more amazing reason. If an individual actualizes their potential in this space-time it is also actualized in the Singularity the space-less, time-less part of the dual universe at the quantum level. Each step of my life has led to find the answers because in the Singularity I had already found them. Here are the answers to God, the universe, and everything, I give them to you now because you are in desperate need of them, do with them what you will. Buy the book or not, read the book or not, I do not care, for I have completed my task and fulfilled my destiny, and that is all that matters. But if you do read the book be prepared for a remarkable vision of the nature of reality, and a magnificent purpose of existence illustrated with poetry and painting.

My childhood was like every child’s dream. The innocence of the joy filled with nothing by love. Today, I realize the importance of purity of simple life. In my early teen days, when most of my friends were the popular in the school, I was a shy, quiet girl, spending ever bit of the time daydreaming of a becoming someone known one day. Since I remember, my poems and paintings were a big part of expressing myself. I would turn every ordinary moment into something to write about and to give special memory and meaning, even thought I haven’t understood yet. I fall in love, very deeply, in young age, and have been married ever since. The big tragedy has shattered mine, and many others, world, by the war in my homeland of ex Yugoslavia. My life has changed dramatically when my loving husband and I separated during that time, but, the faith has brought us back together after 14 months of fear and not knowing. We lived in Germany for six years, and there I found the greatest happiness of all. I become a mother! We moved overseas in USA in 1998 after long deciding period. The challenges of learning and hard work in entirely different world, for me, changed my life once again. With the time, in the process of adjusting, I become a mother to two beautiful girls, which brought me an enormous fulfillment and inspiration. In this book I have included the poems that I dedicated to my kids, my husband, my sister, my parents and dear friends, as well as to different emotional state of mine that has been driving me through the years. The people in my life are my biggest support and I know that I am fortunate enough to have them believing in me and my dreams. I hope that people all over the globe, will find a part of their own feelings, by reading my book. My life, itself, has brought some challenges that in the end, has relieved me. In a sense of looking forward smiling and being happy, I truly believe in power of love. I have learned the importance of making choices, of forgiving and being forgiven, of regrets and moving on, and the beauty of everything good in human being. Today, I enjoy my life fully.
