WAS THE GOD OF JOSHUA EVER THE GOD OF JESUS? Marshalling western historical and political evidence, contemporary Biblical scholarship, and Karl Rahner´s theology, this work focuses on the Mid-East conflict with a compelling critique of the theory and practice of Jews, Muslims, and, above all, Christians, for following Joshua more than Jesus. Pointing to the parallel between the (story of the) Hebrews freed from slavery under the Egyptians becoming victimizers of Canaanites and the Christians freed from (Roman) persecution becoming victimizers of the Jews, pagans, heretics, Muslims, women ("witches"), and so many colonized, the author blames not the New Testament but the Old Testament Deuteronomic theology of Domination (found in the Pentateuch, Historical Writings, the Prophets, and Psalms) for Christian, Muslim, and Nazi peersecution of the Jews, and for the Israeli conquest, displacement, and/or oppression of the Palestinians. He questions whether Palestine was ever divinely promised because the same Domination theology also claims Yahweh commanded, helped, and then blessed Joshua´s conquest/genocide. He questions whether Jesus´s God could have been responsible. Neither the original conquest of Palestine, nor the original exile, nor the original return, nor the Roman conquests in 70 & 135 AD., nor the 20th century return and conquest of Palestine by Jews was brought about by any special act of God. God has not been punishing Jews for 1900 years with exile for not believing in Jesus. All three religions have partially misinterpreted God(´s self-revelation). This unique critical introduction to the Bible, western history, and the Jewish/Christian/Muslim Dialogues, demands a new theology of the Old Testament, Biblical Inspiration, Church History, and Divine Providence over modern Europe, Israel, and the U.S. It criticizes Rome, liberation theology, both Hans Kung´s and Emil Fackenheim´s Judaism, moral theologians, Hiroshima, fundamentalism, Eastern religion, American and European arrogance, and the terrorism of both Israelis and Palestinians, neither of which are simply justified because the terrorist is or is not a recognized legitimate nation/state. As a memory of misery, the author offers a novel "Litany of History" so his fellow believing Catholics can acknowledge, along with their saints, martyrs, and scholars, their fanatics, block-heads, and power-worshippers, and the great religious outrages as well as the heavenly signs and gifts. At the height of his business success the author and his companies suffered a total crash. An attorney associate, of national recognition, with several books and monthly columns to his name, embezzled them dry and hid everything in secret foreign bank accounts they could never find, bringing about the largest tax scam in US history. He went to federal prison, the companies went to dry dock, and Mr. Rolwing went to bankruptcy. It was during his bankruptcy that, after meeting a Palestinian who had grown up in Jerusalem until his large extended family was driven out by Israelis in 1949, he began his first serious study of Israel. He had often taught about the horrors of the Nazi holocaust, and never hesitated to rebuke anyone who made any anti-Jewish remarks, once threatening to ask his own father to leave.

WAS THE GOD OF JOSHUA THE GOD OF JESUS? A relook at modern Israel´s roots in ancient Israel, salva- tion history, biblical inspiration, partial revelation, imperfect theology, and misguided leaders among Jews, Muslims, and Christians. It asks, considering Mohammed, Ben Gurion, and Harry Truman, if Joshua has not had as much influence on western civilization as Jesus. "What on earth is God doing in the Middle East?" Do Uncle Sam and his protoge Israel justify divine providence in human history? Do victories in war and success in business prove God´s blessing, and do failures in finance and disasters in health (Aids) manifest God´s displeasure? How does Christ´s cross (theology) fit into history (politics)? "This book is indeed thoughtful and creative. It highlightsthe need for all of us today to be much more self-critical; especially for us Christians to see how domination theology has been a part of our own approach." Fr. (Dr.) James Bacik, author of Apologetics and the Eclipse of Mystery.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS: Introducing Armageddon is Debora Roth Brewer’s first published work that details the controversial ten covenant commandments from G-D to the Jewish nation of Israel. The author makes a distinction between the first spoken articles of the Law of G-D and these ten covenant commandments by defining the two Hebrew words, ‘mitsvah’, and ‘dabar’ that are translated into the English word ‘commandments’. Taking the reader on an in-depth study, starting with preparation of the children of Israel to receive G-d´s Law from Mount Sinai in the book of Exodus chapter Nineteen, the secret to unlocking Armageddon is found in scripture. The first ten articles of the Law of G-d found detailed in Exodus Chapter 20 is what is traditionally accepted by the known Church world as ‘the ten commandments’. As the reader embarks on a biblical study it is discovered that G-D calls another passage of scripture from Exodus the tenets of His covenant with Moses & Israel, and specifically names these words “the ten commandments”. Without undermining the importance of today’s “ten commandments”, Debora Roth Brewer challenges the reader to delve deeper into the word of G-d to discover the covenant between G-d and the nation of Israel that is just now being revealed by the Spirit of G-d. Spurred on by a “what does it matter” attitude from fellow Christians, and direct opposition from denominational mind-sets, the author cried out to GOD for inspiration. The LORD took her on a journey through His Word. From Moses to Zephaniah and from Jesus to John the Revelator, this book will challenge the Biblical novice, and also intrigue the doctors of the law. This book is not for the lukewarm at heart toward the things of G-d, but is aimed at those whose opinions are either hot or cold.If you have a definite opinion about the nation of Israel, about Christianity in general, or about the second coming of CHRIST, this book is for you.

"1960 DESTINATION ISRAEL," was written by the author for her children who don´t know much about this period of her life.In 1960, Israel was not exactly a tourist destination. Instead the country was receiving a fascinating influx of Jewish immigrants from all over the world and Elsa, a "goy," was in the midst of them. The voyage to Israel was at the invitation of a Jewish scientist who had studied in Holland. Elsa van der Laaken found employment in Beer-Sheba and Jerusalem and stayed in Israel for 2 1/2 years. The result was a collection of handwritten journals embellished with photos and historical notes that eventually shaped this book. The author´s writing challenge was to stay faithful to her younger self and her impressions of the State of Israel in its formative years. The story describes a series of events experienced by a young adult ready to grow up and leave home.To learn more about the author, as well as her WW II memoir, "A Point of Reference," go to www.vanderlaaken.com.
