The informationis presented through catchy, memorable rhymes. This book provides anexcellent literary introduction to information about the moon, and can besuccessfully used by primary teachers and parents alike.

A little girl is able to overcome her fear of the dark through the lessons(moon news) her father teaches her about the moon. She considers the moona most interesting night light which she endearingly refers to as her"sleeplight". The girl and her father use bedtime as an opportunity toexplore basic science information surrounding the moon. The child not onlybegins to wonder about the moon, but takes ownership for its presence inher world.

The book contains many interesting pieces of factual information which aregeared to the young reader's level of interest and understanding. The lastpage of the book is called "Real Moon Facts for Real Kids" and lists, as areview, valuable tidbits for little ones about the moon.
