In 1869, a wagon train of freed slaves heading west, looking for land, is attacked by Indians. Sadie is the only survivor. Coyote is reluctant to enter the contest but does so to please Billy. Coyote is an expert marksman and wins the contest. His prizes include a trophy, Hector the donkey and gold prospecting equipment. Coyote and Billy decide to travel to Gold Country to seek their fortune. We follow them on an adventure through the Old West.
