The number-system, also used by professional studio and stage musicians throughout the world, is the simplest approach to learning how to play the piano (applicable to ALL instruments) on earth! Now it’s here to share with everyone!Ever wondered how some people can sit down at a piano and play without having the sheet music or song book in front of them? Guess most folks think the chords and notes were memorized by the player. In some cases they were. But in truth, most simply know the basic mechanics and formulas that created music. Some people think of these musicians as able to “play by ear”, which is actually fairly accurate, however, there is a method to it. By putting about an hour a day just 2-3 days a week, into studying the “Formulas” taught in this book and practicing them, in a few months or less, depending on your ambition, you’ll be playing songs on your own with or without the sheet music. Whether you want to start a band, perform music for a living, write songs, or just play the piano that’s in your house gathering dust, you’ll be amazed at how easy and fun getting started can be!

The gamut of notes used herein has a frequency range of modulus 12 (semitones) and is more circular than linear, like a clock, because octaves are integer multiples of one fundamental frequency. 5 is not a factor of 12, so the intervals 1 or 5 can individually be used to construct any note sequence. When the orthogonal parameters of strings and frets manifest multiples of 1 and 5, circular music is also rectangular, the creative medium is also geometric, and as an aural and visual sculpture, music is less bounded. Establish the realm of harmonic possibilities for the guitar.

COMMENTARY ON THE TWELVEEXCURSIONS PLUS ONE FOR THE YOUNGPIANIST
The “Twelve Excursions” may be studied and performed at many levelsduring the student’s development of both contemporary and traditional styles ofpiano music. These pieces range from beginner’s level to intermediate and advancedlevels of difficulties in relationship to the technical, interpretive, rhythmic and temporequirements for performance. The harmonies at times are very conventional and also verydissonant in certain pieces such as “Skipping Through the Woods” and “Let Us Begin” whichrequire careful voicing. The tempo markings are approximate and most pieces sound well at differenttempos. This is similar to the Baroque period view of no tempo indications for most compositions. Thestudy and performance of the “Excursions” will expand the tonal palate of the young pianist and possiblya taste for composition.
would like to quote George Anson, piano critic for the piano publication CLAVIER, whom I believe sums upthe “Excursions,” “Highly imaginative, the various activities, moods and musical descriptions portrayed with witand cleverness. Frequently quite dissonant, very pianistic, the music aptly fits the individual titles. Perfect for thesophisticated, intelligent, and inquiring young pianist.”
