I consider myself more fortunate than others, having traveled and photographed throughout most of the world including, China, East Africa, South Africa, Egypt, Israel, South America, Europe. The list goes on traveling almost all of the United States, including Hawaii. My dream was to travel through Alaska and to be among the famous Alaskan bears.

About three years ago, that dream came true. With my wife, Rosalie, we set out on a cruise of the Alaskan Inside Passage to view and photograph the wonders of Alaska while celebrating our 30th. Anniversary. One day into the trip and I was hooked (like a salmon swimming up stream) and had to have more. The following year (making reservations and paying a year in advance) we were back in Alaska except this year we were on a 15-seat seaplane heading for a remote section called Brooks Falls located in the Katmai National Park and Preserve. Brooks Lodge is in the heart of "BEAR COUNTRY". There are as many as 30 bears living along the one and a half-mile Brooks river during the salmon season. If it is Bears that you want to view or photograph, this is the place. My dream of being in Alaska was now a reality with over 10,000 digital images shot and edited into the 58 images seen in this book.
