Almost everyone loves animals, and many of us dream of pursuing a lifelong career working with earths great creatures. As children, we may have dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, working in a zoo, or living a life as an American cowboy. Sadly, as adults we often look back on those unfulfilled fantasies with remorse. But it's never too late. Circles in the Sand is the story about following your wildest dreams. Where ever they may lead you. Each chapter, highlights my own adventures with a host of unique animals. A staged Bear attack with my old friend Casey on a Hollywood movie set, or swimming in a cold mountain stream with my very favorite Jaguar, "Poncho." There are stories of traveling to exotic locations like the Amazon Rainforest in search of giant snakes. There are also tales of the tragic and senseless loss of my faithful camel "Cefa." Circles in the Sand, is also a book about commitment. Commitment not only to ourselves, but also a commitment to the countless, wild and domestic animals that in so many ways enrich all of our lives. As humans, we have been assigned an important task. We are the stewards. Stewards of not only the land but stewards of each and every creature which shares this planet. This is the story of one animal lovers, one stewards pursuit of living life to the fullest. As I share these treasured memories, I will celebrate the lives of all my beloved creatures which have passed on before me. They will always remind me to stay on course, to rediscover my "authentic self." These eternal friends although lost, will not be forgotten.' Mary Theresa McDonough B.A. B.Ed. OCT is a wildlife photographer who has travelled extensively throughout many wilderness area throughout the world. This time she has captured the essence of the true wilderness habitats of the animals in the African nations of Kenya and Tanzania and has noted their trusting nature with humans in her close-ups, in a country that doesn�t allow any hunting by humans.

She has cofounded her own survival program in Canada called Project Whitewater whereby adolescents were allowed to coexist with nature and its inhabitants and she has noted that in all of her experiences in the wilderness she has rarely experienced danger.

As a teacher she strives to impart the value of recognizing the beauty and nobility of all creatures and the importance of preserving and protecting them at all costs.
