A first-person account, of thoughtful, healing and provocative excursions into the material and spiritual realms of existence while under the influence of cannabis sativa. Captured in words by Ganja and given to Louis to be the journal keeper, we read of journeys into the positive use, as contrasted to abuse, of a gift bestowed upon humans by the gods. Be it described as a plant teacher or a weed, marijuana has been used across cultures throughout the ages to reveal multiple realms of consciousness, and to introduce new ways of being to those who have come to respect its powers and accord marijuana the reverence it deserves in order to unleash its full potential to make of life a rapturous experience.
Journal entries that tell of a joyous daily existence, awareness of eternal truths, sexual ecstasy and spiritual enlightenment are to be found within the pages of this book as we read of Ganja´s travels into the land of "Deep Spirit and Great Heart," where we come to realize that heaven is not a place, but a state of consciousness.

We have been “had”. For a long time people have tried to convince us that reality is defined by our five senses. We bought in to that description of the world, but somewhere, deep within, we knew there was more. Awake in the Dream reminds us of the rich world that exists beyond those limited descriptions of reality. We can feel the currents of those truths rippling through our awareness. Our soul is searching for openings that will take us home. We are drawn to experiences that expand our consciousness. We read books, watch movies, and travel so that we can experience the richness of multiple realities. A guy named Disney understood our deep yearnings, and created lands for us to explore. Awake in the Dream is the adventure of self-discovery. The journey to be all that we are begins with our soul’s awakening.

There never was a time when a sense of wonder was absent. Perhaps there were times when it was covered over by more pressing “obligations” imposed by living, but it was always there. This book is about the exploration of this source of wonder, attempting to understand it. The wonder about death is the most persistent. This wondering leads to questions about the meaning of existence, and the nature of man and God. Accepting religious statements of faith as explanations, never seemed satisfactory to a scientific mind that demanded “proof.” Casting a wide net for information led to the exploration of wide ranging fields of study: psychology, parapsychology, mysticism, Eastern religious practices, “energy biology,” astronomy, physics and the perennial philosophy underlying the major world religions. This book is the attempt to make sense of this wide ranging exploration and provide a meaningful view of the diversity encountered. There is an attempt to provide a convergence of meaning while leaving room for each individual to become his/her own explorer and interpreter. It is a presentation of rational fact, yet it is also an exploration of the limitations of rational thinking. This book is designed to help you on your journey of re-perception, bringing you to the brink of spiritual awakening.

Women with breast cancer, medical professionals, art therapists and psychotherapists alike will find The Naked Heart hard to put down. This little book is a gem! From: The Naked Heart: How I Painted My Way Through Breast Cancer by Merideth Bowen Shamszad:"I hope that by sharing my story and paintings with others facing life-threatening illness, I can support and encourage the self-exploration and healing power of creativity. I have often heard it said by other survivors that cancer strips away pretenses and falseness, leaving our hearts naked and open to what is true and real in our lives. Through the arts, we can express and share these universal truths and further open ourselves to healing."
