This poetic biography explores the heart and soul of a father who has, without warning, lost his only child. Ranging from joyous and uplifting to heartbreaking rhymes, this book is created from a compelling desire to share the blessings of a wonderful daughter and her all-too-brief period here as a daughter and a mother. Inspiring as she was, she never lost hope of aspiring to and realizing her personal dreams. Many touching memories are shared in these poignant rhymes as elation and turmoil are explored. They lend credence to the positive effect she had on the people she met and, in essence, give a voice to her in immortalizing her existence.

THE RECORDING OF A DREAM During bed rest (five days thus far) for my recent back injury, I slept a lot and dreamed some. Most of my dreams I couldn't remember when I awakened. However, this one was just as clear when I awoke as it was while I was dreaming. The dream: We, Louise and I, and a large group of people were in this large com field that had recently been harvested. Most of the people I knew from our Mt Paran church family, but there were quite a few people that I didn't recognize. I assumed that we had just completed harvesting the com for some farmer who needed help. Anyway, we were all seated on the ground in the com field. Louise stood up and said: "Lyle will now tell us how we can get to Heaven and what Heaven will be like." I remember thinking she must be out of her mind and that I am going to kill her when we get home. I then started talking, not really knowing what I was going to say, but once I started talking, I was surprised at how easily the words came. My talk went something like this: The scriptures tell us to get to Heaven we must do two things. The first is to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was born of a virgin birth. He lived on earth for a short while doing nothing but good and teaching God's Word. He was crucified and arose on the third day and ascended to Heaven to prepare for His second coming. Since this is all in our Holy Bible, you may think that this is easy and it may be for some, but for many, we are like the story of the man walking and pushing a wheelbarrow across a tight wire over Niagara Falls. After he had walked and pushed the wheelbarrow across the tight wire, he asked: "How many of you believe that I can put a person in the wheel barrow and push him across?" The crowd said they believed that he could. He then pointed to a man and said "Hop in." the man departed so quickly they couldn't see which way he left! So many of us are like that man. We say we believe but are not willing to prove that we really believe. From time to time, we may all have doubts and be skeptical. Our prayers and conversations with God are a way to eliminate doubt and remove skepticism. God help us with our unbelief and skepticism. The scriptures tell us that Peter's lack of faith caused him to sink in the water. Jesus said "Oh ye of little faith". So we must continue to pray that God will strengthen our faith and belief. The second is to repent of our sins. The dictionary defines repent: "To feel regret for what one has done or failed to do". Then, after repenting we must ask God for forgiveness for our sinful deed or thought. The Scriptures also tell us that there is no sin so great that God will not forgive if we ask forgiveness with true sincerity from the heart. And, although God will forgive the greatest of sins, he will not accept any sin as right or okay. If we ask forgiveness for our sins when we do not really regret committing the sin, we are not asking for forgiveness but acceptance, which God will not do because he is perfect, and in His perfect love will forgive sins for which we have truly repented. So, while belief and repenting may seem easy, they are not. They require help from God in answer to our daily prayers. Ask and thou shall receive. Now for the part about what Heaven will be like. The Scriptures tell us that Heaven will be more wonderful than we can imagine. But, we must remember that when we enter Heaven, we will be changed from our sinful, mortal being. By the blood of Jesus Christ, we will be cleansed from our worldly thoughts and desires. Through the love and grace of God Almighty and the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, we will all be perfect like Jesus. We only know that Heaven will be perfect and there can be no improvement on perfection. The Scriptures also tell us that in Heaven, we will know our loved ones, but it also tells us that one will be taken and one left behind. The way to Heaven is narrow and the way to destruction is wide. Now, we know that there will be no sadness in Heaven and if one of our loved ones is left behind to suffer eternity in the lake of fire, how can we not be sad? My worldly perception is that they will be blocked from our heavenly memory. "Depart from me I never knew you." or that all of our prejudices, jealousies and envy will have been washed away and replaced with heavenly love which is complete and with complete love, comes complete understanding. Regardless of my perception, God has already taken care of this and Heaven will be perfect with no sadness. END OF DREAM. Following are some after thoughts that should have been included in my" Dream Talk". A poll taken in 2008 revealed that approximately 80% of those being polled claimed to be Christians. Of this 80%, more than half, 57%, said that they believed there were ways of getting to Heaven other than through Jesus Christ. Now, the Scriptures tell us that the only way to God and Heaven is through his Son, Jesus Christ. Our dictionary describes Christian as: "Professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teaching of Jesus". In my opinion the 57% of self admitted Christians who believe they can get to Heaven other than through Jesus Christ are like vacationers on a cruise ship sailing on the Sea of Tranquility. They will never reach port, and unless they accept Jesus Christ as their only way to Salvation, their lake of tranquility will become a lake of burning fire. It is through the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed during his sacrificial crucifixion that we sinners can be cleansed of our sin and acceptable to God as justified and through His grace, worthy of Heaven. Jesus, Himself, said in John 5.22: "For the Father judgeth not men but hath committed all judgments to the Son". Hence, there can be no salvation except through the Son who is Jesus Christ. On the human side, in Billy Graham's book "Peace With God", he described justified as "just as if l had never sinned". Lyle F. Bradley 1 December 2008

This book is for children and parents alike. My children have inspired me to write poetry. They have been my inspirations to keep my pen to paper. I have always loved to make up poems to tell them at bed time and this is what has been my motivation in writing what you are about to encounter. I am inspired by their many talents and their critiques that they have offered me throughout their childhood and now I am sharing my poetry that I have created for them, to you my reader. Thank you for letting me share.

This short selection of poems and stories includes some poems from 'Rhymes for no Reason' which I published earlier this year. My main aim when writing poetry or short prose works is either to amuse my readers or to tell a story or point a moral. I have never been able to see the sense in writing beautiful English just for the use of language alone. Hence this selection includes humour, love, sadness, spiritual works bordering on prayers and tales which concentrate on how human emotions affect or are manipulated by different people. I must admit, however, that if some of the works appear forced or unusual I have experimented with different types of rhyming in places. For example, the format in the 'Arranging a Rendez-Vous' was in answer to a challenge that I could not do it. And some of the wistful memories evoked in the stories and verse are based on true events in my life. However, 'What turns him on' is entirely fictional and was written for a flash fiction contest about erotic experiences without using any specifically erotic words. And I am not protesting too much! If anyone were to ask me, however, the secret to writing a particular type of poem or story I cannot help them. With the exception of acrostics, where I write the first letters of each line vertically first and then compose the poem, I have no set way of approaching any writing. My novel “James and Jacqueline”, which is coming out later this year, is a classic example of someone writing a romance very close to the truth, especially in its theme and setting, but also very obviously a fictitious story. This perhaps best sums up all my work. But as long as you have fun thumbing through this book and reading extracts at random - please don't try and read it straight through - and wanting to re-read at least a quarter of them, then I will be happy.

The poems were inspiration to write after using the phonic exercise program. With many years of not spelling correctly, heart wood house in Ottawa Ontario [School for Adults] give me a second chance in spelling. I thank them very very much in doing great work in teaching others. The poems were written through the experiences of life, peoples love for others, birthdays and the experience that my parents had raising eight children. I THANK EVERY ONE THAT INSPIRES ME.

Circling Round Yoga, Science, War & Cats is a book of four poetry collections, each intended to express the universal; a unity in variety. Ms. Corwin: “In Circling Round Yoga, I’ve circled around varieties of yoga by including such subjects as recipes, thoughts about cooking, meditative reflections and recommendations, direct, unsystematic and definitely incomplete; recommendations for getting rid of loneliness: ideas that circle around the diverse paths of yoga. In Circling Round Science it was hard to draw a line between the intuitive, the spiritual, the philosophic and the scientific. Sometimes I feel like a combination charlatan-cum-dilettante with nothing to use but limited knowledge and intuition. I loved words like ionized, fractal, little green men from Mars, unified theory, red shift, continuum…they were oases of inspiration; an overlap of poetic speculations and quasi-science. War Book is self-explanatory. It’s anti-. It may moan a bit. A killing phenomenon unjustifiable, despicable, one is impelled to say something. And finally Cat Book, a collection based on lovingly unsentimental observations of the only cats I’ve known: Sootis and Albert, who were and are more than a mice eliminating part of my life.”
