It is a bit confusing and uncomfortable to be born a Roman Catholic. Each of us certainly has a body of received dogma and moral teachings but received wisdom is quite another thing. Wisdom comes from living. Moral demands and dogmatics without reference to the individual mind and considered behavior is, at best empty and, at worst, a kind of cultural fascism. Most of us who worship regularly and identify ourselves with a particular religion are not theologians any more than we are constitutional scholars or very complete historians of our own countries. At the same time we share a set of problems and goals: How do you make practical sense out of faith and useful meaning out of Church teaching? We are as much creators of our faith and morality as we are consumers of church dogmas and morals. The goal of faith is hope, tranquility and meaning. To this end, stories need be told. Shared stories is one definition of family and community. The People of God can only be persons of faith who share their stories. Coping Catholic is shared stories and meditations on the Creed, Commandments and Sacraments of a baptized Roman Catholic. It initiates a dialogue within the Christian Community. It shares the life experiences of a church-going, college educated Roman Catholic and reports what he believes. It proceeds dogma by dogma in the Creed, commandment by commandment, sacrament by sacrament, and life experience by life experience. His story reports the what and explains the why. The authors intent in sharing his story is that some readers will find a foothold of hope in the story of how another person, who shares much of their experiences and education, has learned to cope with the faith and doctrine many of us were born to.

| OUR MISSION IN THESE SIX BOOKS 1.Growing Decline in World Peace We started our long journey in these six Books with an expression of concern over the growing decline in world peace. Our Mission throughout our Six Books had therefore focused on our views on how the state of World Peace can be advanced. 2. Enhancing unity between Christianity and Secularity. We expressed at the beginning of our first Book that one major source of the growing decline in world peace is the on-going wars and crises between the Religious and Secular worlds of today. This source of global crises had been acknowledged in a recent conference of global Religious Leaders held in Assisi at the invitation of Pope Benedict XVI. The Conference participants resolved unanimously to address this source of crises in world peace. Global Secular Leaders had also expressed much concern on the growing decline in world peace. They did so again at the last meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. 3.Our Mission to contribute to Pope Benedict XVI’s New Evangelization In our view, the recent launching of the New Evangelization by Pope Benedict XVI reflected in part the resolution of Religious Leaders in the Assisi Conference to find ways of addressing the growing decline in world peace due partly to Religious conflicts with Secularity across the world. The Pope called on all Lay members of the Catholic Church and Christians in general to contribute to the success of the Pope’s New Evangelization-PCNE. As we expressed throughout our six books, our mission in these Books is to respond to the call by Pope Benedict XVI. 4. Military and Secular Perspectives on the Religious and Secular Peace We stated clearly from the start, that our contribution would reflect on the military and secular aspects of the growing conflicts between Christianity and Secularity, using the global experience in both sectors by our Author throughout his career. We had to take these perspectives because we must identify the source, leadership and strategies in the wars and conflicts between the Religious and Secular worlds . Unless we know the leaders in the conflicts and their missions we cannot achieve any progress in resolving these wars and crises and enhance the level of world peace. | | 5. My Background | | A few words of introduction on my background may enable the Reader understand my perspectives in these Books. I started the project of writing the Books because I am convinced that I can contribute to the PCNE by bringing my African background in Nigeria, education at the London School of Economics and exposure to global secular governance through my position as a former Economic Adviser with The U.K. Government and a Senior Economist at The World Bank. 6. Is anything wrong with The Catholic Teaching? Following our method of Economic Analyses, I proceeded from the basic question on the assessment of the effectiveness of the PCNE on Global Peace — “Is there anything wrong with The Catholic Teaching or with the people to whom this Teaching is being addressed these days? If there is something wrong in the teaching or the people, that might impact on world peace . We all know that Bin Laden’s interpretation of Islamic teaching as mandating his terrorists to kill those they call infidels has been contributing to rapid decline in world peace. Based on our assessment , there is nothing wrong with Catholic teaching that may impact world peace. The mission of Christ and His Church is indeed to bring peace to the world through His teaching .We may recall that Christ said, “I have come to bring you Peace, the peace the world (of the enemy) cannot give”. If we are not enjoying that peace that Christ brought, then we must be in a state of the enemy’s world that lacks that peace, a state of global crises, wars and conflicts. 7.Nothing Wrong with Catholic Teaching Therefore , in my view as expressed throughout my Books , there cannot be anything wrong with the Catholic teaching as I understand it. However, Christ assured us through His command to the Apostles at His Ascension, when He said, “Go forth and teach all nations what I had taught you, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son and The Holy Ghost . . . Whoever believes you will be saved, whoever does not believe you , will be condemned and behold I will be with you to the end of time ” 8.Church Leaders can make mistakes like all men The Catholic Leadership does not, however, state that its human leaders cannot make mistakes in their actions. The Church teaches that when the Pope speaks from his Chair on Doctrinal matters, ( ex Cathedra ), he is not wrong. 9. Something wrong with The People receiving the teaching? Continuing my economic method of investigation, I turned to next part of my question, if there is nothing wrong with the teaching of the Church, is something wrong with the people who are receiving that teaching?. If so , had that contributed to the growing decline in world peace through its impact on the De-Christianization and Crisis of Faith in the Christian world? These are the questions I proceeded to investigate through the Bible and current state of the world in my journey in these Books. 10. Satan as a Liar, deceiver and roaring lion As I commenced my journey through the Bible, I was surprised to note that the answers to my questions above were provided right in the first and last Books of the Bible. In the last Book of The Bible, The Book of Revelation, Satan is defined as the Liar, Deceiver and Anti-Christ. Elsewhere in the Bible it is described as a roaring lion seeking who to devour As a Liar, it makes false Promises that it does not keep. As a roaring lion, it attacks everyone viciously. So we are warned to be ware for we know not when it comes . We are reminded of this warning by our Author in his books . 11, Satan’s Temptation of Eve In the second chapter of the Book of Genesis, the definition of Satan came alive in its temptation of Eve. All that it told Eve turned out to be lies, deceptions and false promises. This strategy runs all through the Bible. It has been so from the time of Eve to the present. 12. Its Corruption of the Pillars of Christ’s teaching on Love, Freedom , Power and Wealth . In addition to the above definition , its major weapon in today’s world is the corruption of Christ’s teaching Pillars . It turns the central commandment of Love of neighbor (Agape) upside down into sexual love of the flesh (Eros ). It turns the great of gift freedom from God upside down into freedom to do as we like with our body. It uses the great gift of power that God provides to serve our neighbor into a weapon of persecution . It turns the gift of wealth that God gives us to help the poor and marginalized into a weapon of corruption . A fundamental Teaching of the Catholic Church that runs through the Bible is that Satan exists as an evil spirit to corrupt God’s perfect world and tempt the people away from the Word of God and teaching of His Church and thereby wage its wars, crises and conflicts in the world. So , Satan cannot bring Peace but only constant wars and corruptions. The key to enhancing the level of world peace is through an enhancement of Religious teaching. But the enemy had used its agents in secular governance to ban religious teaching in public schools . How then can our youths learn Morality, God’s commandments and Christian principles and become good citizens ?. Christian and secular Authorities must address these satanic attacks if we are to obtain and retain peace in society . Obedience to God’s commandments is obedience to good secular laws that enhances the level of world peace as planned by God. 13.A Reminder that God is behind Secular Governance So our mission is to remind the world that God is behind both our religious and secular Governance. We also need to be reminded that Satan is the only one behind all our wars, crises and attacks. It is the only enemy of God and Man. We should recall that God commanded Adam, saying, “Go forth and Rule the world (Secular Command) but do not eat of the fruit in the middle of the garden (Obedience and Worship of God Covenant)”. He further commanded Prophet Samuel to separate the Religious and Secular governance by allowing the request by the Jews to have their own secular king and thus separate the authorities of secularity from those of Religion. 12.The Enemy’s Attacks in the Old Testament In our Book 1 we investigated how God’s enemy had been battling with God’s world from the time of Adam and Eve. Its goal in these attacks is to corrupt the unity of Secularism and Religion. . Those who are victims to its goal are described as Atheists. They sail in their own ships across the world winning support for their master. Its ships continue to fight God’s own ship of His church along their journeys. 13.God Continues to intervene in our world At very critical moments in their journey, God intervenes. After the fall of Adam and Eve, God intervened to save His world from the attacks of Satan. In the wars between Saul and David and the battles of Moses in the Exodus we see examples of the enemy’s attacks and God’s interventions. After the Birth of Christ God intervened to save the child Jesus from Satan’s attacks through Herod to kill innocent children. During the Passion and Death of His beloved Son, God did not intervene because Satan’s actions were in accordance with His Will. Since the time of Christ, God continues to intervene from time to time to save His people. These days the enemy makes many eyes blinded and ears blocked to this fact of God’s continued Love and intervention to save us despite our sinfulness. 14.God’s intervention from Christ’s Time to modern Times We tend to forget the key interventions by God in the world from the time of Christ to the present –God intervened at the following events-- 1. Roman Empire Converted to Christian Empire. 2.The Barbarian Army defeated By the Crusaders 3.Victory at the First and Second World Wars 4.Cuban Nuclear Threat against America during Kennedy’s Presidency 5.Pope John Paul 11 and End of Communism 6.God is currently intervening through Pope Benedict XVI’s PCNE. 15.Our themes -- Book One – Explores the Origin and Progress of the War since Adam as a background to the rest of our Books. Book Two –Provides a Fictional Secular Court Trial of the Human Agents of Terrorists and Atheists used by Satan in its attacks. . Book Three –Provides the Experience of the War in Public Governance in a Fictional Nation of Odom as an example of how Secularity and Christianity can cooperate to achieve peace. Book Four – Provides Examples of the enemy’s strategies and attacks in various Professions -- to enlighten and warn Professionals on how Satan attacks them in their various professions... Book Five – Reviews The Warfront of Religious Freedom by Christians fighting to obey God’s commandments –to warn Secular Governments of the influence of the Enemy which makes them pass its laws favoring such sins as abortion, divorces etc. .. Book Six –Handbook of the Knights of The Cross Mission—K of XM -- -- provides examples on how we can fight the enemy in the warfronts through the warriors of K of XM which we recommended in our Books. 17. SUMMARY of OUR MESSAGE Our Message in all the above Books can be summed up as follows— God established both Christianity and Secularity under His Commandments. Most of the Secular and Christian laws of governance in the modern democratic world since the time of Christ have their roots in God’s Ten commandments as expanded by Christ and taught by His church. Our message therefore is to call on both Christian and secular authorities to return to these roots, strive to be united in fighting their common enemy, Satan, who fights to drive God out of secular governance. Only through their unity can they enhance the level of world peace which Christ brought and which His enemy cannot bring. Our contribution to the Pope’s New Evangelization is to promote this call through our proposed Knights of The Cross Mission. Finally , we call on people to be ware for they know not when the roaring lion will come to attack them , their families, communities and nations. |

Sundays, Dreams, and Souvenirs is a book of joys, sorrows, searching, praying, and loving. It is a book of the sharing of insights of childhood and adulthoodall merged into one as a whole. There are reflections on growing upon being a child, on learning as an adult, and the lessons of childhood . . . again. We are all travelers on this journey called life. We bring along with us the souvenirs from the pastthe joyous days of childhood, and running free, the adult years. Looking back, the pain of rejection and heartbreak; the poignant love of family; the lessons learned in giving, in praying, in hoping, in witnessing death and dying, only to emerge into a newness of life; in witnessing life in all its beauty, in all its trauma and joy; but always keeping our eyes on the love of God, the love of family, and the dreams that we keep in our heart, which can see us through the challenges of life at every turn. We need to trust God in these pages, to open up to a world that can be and is really within each of our grasps. It is a world of wonder, awe, and beauty, but also one of painstaking trust in giving to God each moment of our lives, to the Creator who formed us in our mothers womb, and to give him back a life of tenacity and strength and total joy. Jeff Bradley wrote, The magic of the next word . . . infinite possibilities. We too can find this as we turn the page.

Voice of Grace is a personal story of a woman’s unusual health conditions...her upbringing in south Louisiana...her family...marriage...and spiritual awakening to return to the Catholic Church after 30 years.

Voice of Grace is a memoir detailing the life of Grace Dupuis Hunt, its joys and sorrows, and a happy childhood in south Louisiana interrupted by years of complex illnesses, wellness, marriage to a successful business man, departure from the Catholic Church for 30 years, and then her dramatic return!

Faith, Hope and Food came about as an inspiration from saying the rosary and a love of the art of cooking. The words faith, hope & food (charity) are symbolic of the 1st three Hail Mary’s offered up for those virtues when saying the rosary. Faith is the opposite of fear. Hope is an unfailing trust and fi rm reliance on the integrity, ability and power of God’s intervention. Food, charity & service all come together in the greatest commandment which is love and care for each other. May all who delight in this book be blessed and inspired with these virtues in abundance.

FEW, IF ANY, other priests inAmerica, or elsewhere in the entireworld, for that matter, are likely to be living an identical, exciting, challenging, and exact duplicate to my varied experiences and life decisions before andduring my priesthood. Probably, very few would want to. Transitioning froma nonclergy elder, in a sense, with an enviable repository of both secular andecclesial knowledge, to a junior among priests, never raised doubts. As Davidencourages in Psalm 92:15, “They shall bear fruit, even in old age, alwaysvigorous and sturdy.” If there are such priests, would they agree with my viewof accepting the call of preparation for and performance in priestly ministryordained as a seventy-two-year-old senior? If there are such priests, theiraccounts would—should—have been adopted by the Church, with the cautionto youths as potential priests to be open to the prompts of the Holy Spirit, tothe prompts of priests, to the prompts of consecrated persons, to the promptseven of lay persons, and to listen and to consider the possibility of a call to thepriesthood or religious life. To flesh out this account properly, I would need to add a few more episodesand stories, to bring to the surface my full renaissance life of military mariner, husband, family man, father, public school teacher, religious education teacher, farmer, writer, photographer, and finally, priest, and still be a sincere person offaith. I have included, beyond the bare facts of my life’s phases, reflections ona variety of subjects, spiritual and otherwise, and views and opinions that arenot the material of the everyday lives of other priests or of our parishioners, but which have contributed to the mix that made my priesthood what it is. I havealso included a significantly large number of quotations from the Bible and theLiturgy of the Hours. These say better than do my own words the importantstatements of life and spirituality. As a public person, I am constantly reminded that all of us operate withinarenas that deal with specialties in language and concepts not normally sharedwith others. We clergy have daily access to the homilies and letters of ChurchFathers and others that are not normally on the daily menu of 99 percent ofour Catholics. I regret that they are denied such materials. For this reason, asI just stated above, I have included reflections on a variety of subjects, spiritualand otherwise, which I think are important in the spiritual lives of our people.Usually, the materials I introduce have relevance to the chapter topic aboutwhich I am writing. Examples are two quotations dealing with our prayer lives:In the Gospel of Mark, chapter 7, verse 6, Jesus cautions the Pharisees andscribes with words from prophet Isaiah: “This people honors me with theirlips, but their hearts are far from me.” In 48:10, prophet Jeremiah said muchthe same: “Cursed be the one who does God’s work negligently.”
