Kala Washington is an eight-year-old girl living in Pine Ridge, a small town on the outskirts of Billings, Montana, with her mother and father, who is teaching her and her little sister, Chris, about God. School has ended for the summer, and Kala knew that when it started again in the fall, she would need a report about her summer vacation. She wondered what kind of excitement would happen this year.
I, Josa McDonald, am a sixty-three-year-old resident and native of Birmingham, Alabama. I am a mother of two children and grandmother of four. I was a nurse by profession for eighteen years, then I worked with and taught two- and three-year-olds for twelve years. Now that I'm retired, I have time to write. So I'm releasing my first book for children, with the title of Kala's Exciting Summer.
