I Am . . . I Can (The Gazelle) is the fourth picture book in the series where children will see animals in difficult and seemingly unreachable conquests. As the animals solve their problems, children are encouraged to achieve goals, overcome hardships and learn how to develop confidence and self-esteem like the animals in the books. Children learn from the insecure gazelle who was convinced he couldn't jump over a tree that had fallen in his path that all he had to do was just try and realize that it wasn't such a difficult task after all.
From northwest Indiana, an animal lover and volunteer worker for the community at the zoo, elementary schools and Reins of Life (a therapeutic riding stable) she directed her passion for animals and children into a series of easy to read children's books to enlighten a child's struggles with many forms of difficulties and insecurities. The books portray animals who are faced with problems they have to solve in order to prove who they are and is an encouragement for them to never give up.
