Early on in my life, I planned a future alone. This book is a proof that one must not plan too much because, often, those plans go awry.
I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico at Roosevelt Roads NAS. We came back stateside when I was 18 months old. As the child of the quintessential Marine, we traveled and moved often, but always maintained family roots in Southern Illinois and Tennessee. My teenage years were spent in Carson City, NV where my Dad retired after 22 years in the Marine Corps. Then back to the midwest and the east coast for college and career. That began a 32 year career with the best major airline. I accepted positions in Chicago, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Suisun City, and Honolulu. Retiring from Honolulu, I came home to Northern California where we still reside. We have a summer home in the Sierras and a winter home in Florida. In between times, in 1979, I married the most wonderful husband and father. With him came two young boys. "my boys" Now I enjoy the intense pleasure of "my boys," three young women I am pleased to call daughters (in-law), four grandchildren and any number of rescue animals I can talk the family into. We are retired and spend as much time as we can traveling by plane, by car and cruising
