WILD SIDE. The Chicago property of Lorraine and Michael Deneen recently was recognized as an official National Wildlife Federation Backyard Wildlife Habitat. The Deneen yard attracts a variety of birds and butterflies. “There is much each of us can do for the environment.” said Craig Tufts, chief naturalist for NWF.

Shereturned to Chicago after graduating from High School in Fifield Wisconsin. Lorraine attended and graduated Nursing Schoolat South Chicago Community Hospital. She met her husband Mike Deneen her senior year andmarried a year later They now have been married41 years. Mike and Lorraine have three grown children, and have five grandchildren.Lorraine has been retired from nursing 10 yearsand Mike is retired after 39 years on the Chicago Fire Department.
