Micalynn Akiona was born and raised in Hawaii onthe Island of Oahu. As a teenager she volunteeredsome of her time at a preschool where shediscovered her love for children. After graduatingfrom high school she went on to college. While incollege she became a single parent of one. Shecontinued her education pursuing and earning herEarly Childhood Education Degree. She discoveredan interest in children‛s books while in a preschoolliterature class. This class, her love for her sonand children motivated her into becoming anauthor of children‛s books.
