Barron Pilgrim
Born in a community known as Leaf, GA. At that time, in White CO. near Cleveland, GA. He attended White CO. High School and Trueet-McConnell College in Cleveland, GA. White CO. is a very beautiful section of N.E. GA, near Helen GA. He played basketball and has bragging rights that his records have stood for over 40 years. He scored first baskets in the gyms where he attended college and always fun to tell.
After college he decided to work retail, he moved to Atlanta and worked for Kmart in the Asst. Mgr program and let Kmart in 1984 to go another direction. While at Kmart, he published The Directions of Love. These poems were romantic in nature and many were written at Tybee Island, while in Savannah, GA., at the beach.
Barron has 2 brothers and a sister that still live near Cleveland, GA. Like any writer, he is always in search for a special idea or poem that might inspire another. Simplicity is the goal , while ideas that touch you are the result of any good work. He has had the good fortune to have met many stars and personalities, recently was on 60 Minute with Johnny Cash which was filmed in 1983 with Harry Reasoner. He has a book title When You Went Away and just finished one Where was God and one working called The Greatest People.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
Once in a lifetime a truly great American poet comes along whose heart and life are inspired by God and the rich tapestry of rural America! Barron Pilgrim is just such a poet, whose love for God, country and simple folk is portrayed n his wonderful new collection of poetry titled, When You Went Away!
I am absolutely amazed at the heart warming simplicity with which Barron Pilgrim captures reflections of the beauty of everyday people, born of their love for God, country, family and friends. I have known Barron for quite some time and am thrilled to produce his latest literary project, therefore I was honored to be part of what I am certain is to be an award winning collection and one of many more to come, which will be enjoyed by poetry lovers from every walk of life.
Well done Barron, thanks for an outstanding visit into the heart and soul of another great American poet with a wonderfully unique and impeccable style!
After I read this unique & different style of poetry, I realized I wanted to produce this book. These ideas are different, but simple and easy to identify with. They cut across all lines, and touch us all. After all life is a series of partings. For whatever reasons, romance to death. An ending usually has some sadness whatever the occasion when people are involved, and have ties like us all.
This poetry deals with romance and death, to how God deals with us in everyday life. Yes, God does have a plan for us, we can even see it then our disappointments. Looking back into our past we see others clearly, remember funny events. So travel across time with the poetry and romance, romanticize and drift along, just enjoy the healing words of this book as I do.
This book has no theme, just passing thoughts collected from down thru the past 20 years, tearing them from several notebooks, Im sure youll find them different from anything you have read.
The title When You Went Away is chosen because it seems life is a chain of events in separation and people going different way because of life situations. So life is a long memory, as in age, of special time and friends and great people we have known and those that has an influence on our lives.
Goodbyes in life play a role; we know all things are temporary, on this earth, in this life, except love.
We hope you enjoy our drifting style of ideas and random thoughts.
