I'm The Type
Can you blame me for feeling the way I feel
Can you blame me because I see what I see
I only see what I see and feel what I feel because I know for a fact it is real
I'm the type of chick who you wife, not the type of chick you only take home at night
I'm the type of chick you say excuse me to, not the one you yell to
I think with my mind and my heart, not with my other body parts
If you want me you not only have to show me you have to believe in me and know
I'm worth waiting for
I don't have time for you if you don't have time for me
I'm the type of woman that never settles for less what she know she can have best
I'm the type of woman that will have individuals working for her,
not the other way around
When I'm faced with a challenge I look for a way, not a way out
I'm a young woman that wants the best out of life the sophisticated type of chick
that knows to always be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't
matter and those who matter don't mind.
I'm just that chick a respectable and wise type of chick
You have to do a lot to get this chick, but if it's something you don't want; stay with the
average bitch
You Fought For Me
Many felt like crying
While others around were dying
Kids without father's and widowed mother's
No one wants to ever go through that pain
The hurt and sadness one feels running through their veins
Some even went insane
To think about what you went through
It will forever be physically, mentally, and emotionally a part of you
How can I ever repay you
You did more than just fi ght for us
You showed the world a great leader they can trust
I can never thank you enough
You put your life on the line so future generations like me can live in peace
Flags half staffed and remembrance of one day, doesn't equal up to the prices many had to
pay
I thank you for what you did, not only for me, but for everyone who is and for
everyone who will be
You fought for me
To My Wonderful Grandfathers:
Preeman J. Faniel Jr: World War II Veteran
and
Curtis Smith: Vietnam War Veteran
I love you both dearly
Brea N. Bell is a native of Hartford, Connecticut and currently resides in Petersburg, Virginia. She attends Virginia State University. As she enters her last year of college as an undergrad, she dared to do what she has been wanting to do since middle school; publish her own book of poetry. Writing to her is more than just words, its expressions into ones inner thoughts and feelings. To be only in her early twenties, this young woman has already done more than one can imagine. And she keeps on doing to show many her age and younger that they can do the same. Every young individual should know that its okay to dream because that dream can someday become a reality.
