In this book the hero of the story is a beautiful Golden Retriever pup, who also is rescued and adopted by Captain Ollie who owns and pilots a tugboat. Captain Ollie falls in love with the golden retriever puppy at first sight and takes him home before he’s given to a shelter by the owners. What happens after that, well you’ll have to read the story to find out. More people need to open their hearts and rescue an abandoned animal. All they want is someone to love them just like we do.
Tugboat started barking, informing Captain Ollie that they were closing in. Then another radio transmission came through. The small patrol helicopter at the site was having trouble. It couldn't hold its position because of its size, and the high winds were too strong.
"The boat has capsized, and the whole family is in the water with no life jackets on!" It was the helicopter's last transmission before losing radio contact with The Nation's Pride.
"That's not good news," Captain Ollie said to Tugboat. The boaters having no life jackets on make the rescue more dangerous and time is important or those people could be lost forever." He knew that the situation was critical. Strangely, Tugboat started barking like he understood what Captain Ollie said.
Soon The Nation's Pride closed in on the capsized boat. Captain Ollie radioed back to the harbormaster, "We're at the site now."
As an author, I love reading and writing children’s books with one of the main characters a dog. I used to go to the school library and read books about different kinds of dogs, their lifestyle and their origins.
The library is the place to go, to read about all kinds of animals. It has a wealth of information just waiting to be absorbed by animal lovers of all age’s especially young minds and future young authors.
My wife and I have a little Yorkshire Terrier who we rescued from a bad situation. She was 10 months old and weighed 5 ½ lbs. She was undernourished and hadn’t had any of the shots needed as a puppy.
To make a long story short, when we entered the home of the owner, hiding under the table was the last and smallest of the litter. I looked at her and she stared up at me it was love at first sight. My heart said we were taking her home with us, no matter what the cost and we did.
