The Author / Inventor of ERA Transliteration had learnt his NAZRA Quran and held his AMEEN before the World War II. Still, he was not a good NAZRA Quran reader. After his marriage, his wife censured his quality of NAZRA Quran, for his faults, errors and repetitions. Modestly, he accepted all his setbacks, and pledged to improve his NAZRA, at an opportune time.
He was an Engineer Officer in the Pakistan Army. He served as an instructor, a designer, an architect, a researcher and also an educationist.
In 1971, India attacked East Pakistan. She captured and changed it to ‘Bangladesh’. India bagged many Prisoners of War, including this author. As a Prisoner in Bangladesh, he begged God His mercy to aid him best utilize his detention in India to gain great results. Solemnly, he sought His help toward NAZRA Quran and to transform him as a NAZRA Quran instructor and an activist, with a view to improve NAZRA Quran of many more in the world.
India extended fine secular freedom in religious rights and rituals to all POWs. In Indian POW Camp # 41 he, the potential Author administered a ‘NAZRA Quran School for the Elders’. In the school, he noted difficulties, flaws and failings in (then) Arabic scripts. These difficulties needed to be removed and replaced with new remedies into an Arabic script, to simplify, facilitate and accelerate NAZRA Quran activities, among all needy Muslims.
In India, God opened to him a Sweet Secret in Arabic script. That is; “Each Arabic letter is, either a ‘Talk Alone letter’ or ‘It Speaks and Starts a Pair’ or ‘It is a Silent (non-spoken) letter.” This Discovery proved to be the seed of sweet success, to many of his innovations into Arabic script.
Also in India, he experienced that over 50% effort of learners, readers and teachers was wasted, ‘Just to Decide One Right Conduct for each letter, throughout Quran’. So he wrote that; ‘All that effort could surely be saved, if One Right Conduct per letter for all letters in whole of Quran, were pre-found and clearly and boldly pre-told, with-in the Arabic script.’ It got done, later.
He also recorded; ‘If total number of symbols used for Arabic alphabet, be reduced from near 150 to 30-35, then another 5-10% relief could be gained by non-Arab readers, teachers and learners of NAZRA Quran.’ And, he noted other problems and conceived their reliefs and remedied, as well.
After two years of Indian Captivity, his NAZRA Quran was a bit better. Additionally however, indeed he had become a NAZRA Quran Activist.
In Pakistan, his wife supported to his Life Long Mission; ‘To enable each and every Muslim to render NAZRA Quran more comfortably and correctly than ever before, as well as, to empower all Muslims to teach NAZRA Quran to next potential teachers, with greater ease, efficiency and enthusiasm.
In Pakistan, he pre-found one right conduct for each letter (and for each diacritic) in entire Quran. And, he conceived a ‘System to Pre-tell each Right Conduct of letters and diacritics, in his would-be Arabic script.’
By 1995, the ERA typing and printing of 30 Parts of Holy Quran had started. All 30 Parts were extensively used for teaching, reading, learning, memorizing and their proof-reading by several seniors, adults and children. By His mercy, entire progress was pleasing, exciting and positive.
