Michael von Blucher-Altona was born in Essex, England and moved to Australia with his parents at the age of two. Michael now lives in Melbourne, Australia with his wife and four children. Michael’s qualifications are in IT and Computing and Michael has worked as a database applications analyst/programmer for more that two decades. The creativity required in designing and programming database applications has enabled Michael to write his first novel, Forkbraid. A story set four centuries into the future at a stage of humanities evolution where we humans have colonised the far flung regions of our solar system, yet human civilisation and society is every bit as politically fragmented as it is today.
This is a very complex book. It's starts a little slow but picks up well. A complex tail of Witchcraft and Wizardry set around 2400AD. Kind of like a mature Harry Potter on steroids in space. Hints of occult knowledge are spread throughout. High tech, in space, terriforming worlds and hunting terrorists. Ends too quickly for my liking, which at nearly 500 pages is hard to believe. Cant wait for the sequal.
