I think Pierre is very handsome, don’t you? Did you know that he is one of the most beautiful birds in the world. The colours and patterns in his tail feathers when fanned are spectacular to see. Pierre is a male peacock, the females do not have the long tail feathers like his. Pierre’s tail has twenty main feathers and many hidden feathers which are much shorter, to help support his fan shaped tail. He can fl y strongly for short distances, but usually chooses not to. His ancestors come from the Indian sub-continent. He is from the pheasant family and eats seeds, grains and small reptiles. He can now be found in many countries of the world and Australia is one of them. Please join Pierre and his friends in the farmyard and be a part of their very busy day as they hunt for the missing twin kookaburras.
